OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment is a compound of naturally occurring microorganisms, enzymes, and microbial nutrients formulated for the remediation of oil spills – on both land and water. With OBT® application, organic compounds such as crude oil and gasoline convert into non-toxic substances (carbon dioxide, water and oxygen), thereby ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
The microorganisms and enzymes that make up OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment are naturally occurring, non-genetically altered, and non-pathogenic. A microencapsulation process provides OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment a shelf life of up to two years and ensures that viable, potent “first generation” strains are ready to work on any remediation project immediately.
