Petrochemical

A Natural Response

United-Tech has been involved in the biological treatment of soils and waters contaminated by chemicals related to the petrochemical industry for over three decades either directly, through one of our global distributors, or through various consulting & engineering firms, or ‘in-house’ industrial personnel. Our product of choice for hydrocarbon and hydrocarbon-related compound contamination projects is OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment.

OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment is formulated using all-natural, non-pathogenic ingredients including non-GMO microorganisms, enzymes, and nutritive carriers. Together these ingredients enable our microorganisms to establish a viable community within a contaminated system. The microorganisms used in OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment become an integral part of a very complex web of organisms that work together to completely break down and digest hydrocarbon compounds like oils, diesel, gasoline, solvents, glycols, as well as alcohols, phenols, etc.

The microorganisms in OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment were selected for their ability to work together and in concert with indigenous microorganisms to co-metabolize contaminants in a variety of systems. OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment is used in soil remediation, either in situ or ex situ; water contamination, salt or fresh; or wastewater scenarios. Anywhere unwanted hydrocarbons exist.

Technical Support from Project Beginning to End

No remediation project is the same.

That is why we offer complete technical support from project design throughout its implementation, until the desired goal is reached. This is what sets us apart from other product manufacturers that charge consulting fees or only offer generic, “One Size Fits All” treatment instructions printed somewhere on their label. These are recipes for failure. Users must understand that they are working with living organisms; every effort must be taken to ensure they not only survive, but they also thrive.

OBT® Oil Degradation Treatment is a great product for standard soil and water hydrocarbon-remediation projects; but its application goes much further.

  • Removal of sheens in harbors, wharves, marinas, docks, and quays.
  • Digestion of contaminants in ship bilges
  • In-situ treatment of railroad ballast
  • Loosening and removal of sludge in petrochemical storage tanks
  • Carwash and garage wastewater collection systems
  • Machine coolant recycling systems [removal of tramp oils]
